The Early Christian Attitude Toward War
This extraordinary volume, published originally in 1919, makes it
clear that the church in the earliest centuries condemned, as Christ did,
all participation in war. The volume is most appropriate for use in
meditation at this time, when it seems virtually certain that a
conventional war might well end up in a nuclear holocaust. It should
prompt an agaonizing reappraisal by all Christians in the modern world
about the true and valid approach which Christians simply must adopt
with respect to warfare - The Rev. Robert F. Drinan (Georgetown University
Law Center).
